			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The frontpage newpaper headline was that they&#8217;re gonna start using English to teach Chinese in schools.  To me, they&#8217;re missing the point.  The main problem is that Chinese is seen by some as a subject to tackle and pass, instead of a living language that&#8217;s beautiful and rich in culture.  I think Chinese should be fun.  And that&#8217;s the philosophy behind Taoshu books.Taoshu is a loveable cartoon character, kids see Taoshu on TV, they connect with Taoshu and Lingling.  So when they read the books, they don&#8217;t see it as &#8220;educational&#8221;, as another Chinese textbook forcefed on them.  Just my two cents.  What do you think? &#8211;Sung Lin Gun</p>
