FUN CHINESE BOOKS

These four sets of Learn Chinese books are based on Singapore’s own award-winning animation TV series. Produced in collaboration with the creator of the acclaimed Teach-A-Tot language-learning books, the books aim to build up your child’s Chinese vocabulary with a series of fun stories.

Created by local animation studio, Peach Blossom Media, the award winning “Taoshu -The Warrior Boy” debuted in 2005 on Nickelodeon Asia and since then enjoyed great success and popularity among kids worldwide. Now the adventures of Taoshu continue in this series of Chinese-language books!

WHY IT WORKS

The books are based on the eminently successful Teach-A-Tot formula, introducing children to Chinese vocabulary in successively higher levels.

“We wanted Chinese books that are fun for kids and also based on a proven pedagogy that works. We found that in Madam Soh’s ( 我会读) I Can Read series of books for young readers. And we’re honoured that she was eager to write these books for us!” says Sung Lin Gun, creator of the Taoshu TV series and Learn Chinese Books.

“It’s great because it really builds your child’s confidence and interest as the books gradually get more and more challenging!” says Petrina Kow, producer of the Taoshu Learn Chinese Books.  This is done with a deliberate text/image separation and a strategic hanyu pinyin guide that helps reinforce word recognition and retention.

As these were created specially for Singaporean parents who are keen to read with their children in Chinese, a ‘cheatsheet’ which includes full pinyin and English translations is provided at the back for quick reference.  Make reading Chinese fun for your kids!
